My name is Diego Donzella, I was born on July the 9th, 1985 in Torino. I currently study at the University and I live in Torino, northen Italy with my family but my origins were from Celle San Vito and Faeto. My grandma, Maria Zamparelli, was born in Faeto in 1931 and She moved to Torino in 1954. During my childhood I spent so many summers over there and I always loved Celle and Faeto.
In 2005 I decided to create my first web site dedicated to all Celle and Faeto’s Emigrants all over the world. I thought it could be useful to write everything about these two villages, giving them more information on their ancestor’s life.
In 2006 I visited a few Faeto and Celle’s communities in Brantford, Ontario and in the U.S.A. (Columbus and Clevaland, Ohio). I joined the San Prospero and San Vincenzo’s Festivals over there and I was really impressed by the love these people put in organize these parties in memory of their origins. Thank to many Americans and Canadians we created a web community with who I still keep in touch.
In 2007 we planned the first genealogy tour to Celle and Faeto called “2007 – Come Back Home!”. 21 Americans, all with Celle and Faeto’s origins, joined this adventure, they came to visit their family villages and they had the occasion to know in a more direct way their ancestor’s birthplaces: houses, views, food, tastes, customs.
From that experience I decided to create an online travel company called D&D who offer, to all the Americans that would like to understand more about their family tree and about Celle and Faeto, the opportunity to visit these area with me as a private guide. Every big tour operators can offer you a Tour to Italy around Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples…But only a small, on line travel company offer you to visit your Ancestor’s birthplace, doing with you genealogy research on the church records, showing you the original house where your ancestor left from and being always ready to satisfy your needs and desires. In addition to this I can plan for you other different tour around Italy to show you the unknown or less touristic side of the Country: Perugia, Spello, Urbino, Assisi and Torino
